My wife and I were married on 1st April 2016 (this post is not an April fools joke!) at Capel Bethlehem, Gwaelod y Garth, Cardiff with reception to follow at Park Plaza Hotel, Cardiff.
The wedding stationary was something that my wife had delegated to me, and seeing at we had a 'New York' theme we had decided that our tables were to be named after streets and locations in New York.
I created the table name signs based on the street signs used in New York using Microsoft Publisher, matching the font, colours, shape and design to create a striking sign at the centre of each table.
All together there were 11 table name signs to be created.
The table plan was designed in Adobe Photoshop and printed on foamed by Hello Blue printers, Bristol (www.helloblue.co.uk). I used an old bus map of New York and had erased the bus route markings and added street names and area names.
Central Park was the 'top table' as this was where we were engaged in 2012. Central Park is at the top end of New York and all other notable place names are 'downtown'. After Central Park, we had:
Avenue of the Americas (6th Avenue)
Next up was the polaroid logo decal. Having created the logo in photoshop, I opened it in an autoCad system and cut it on silver vinyl and stuck it to the bottom of the wooden frame. A neat addition to guests photographs at our wedding.
My groomsmen were treated to a framed design of mine - they're lucky guys!
I wanted to thank them all for their efforts during my stag do and in the preparation for the wedding.
The design, created using Microsoft Publisher, included a silhouette outline of Cardiff, the date and occasion with the headline being the title of their duties and their name as a stripe diagonally across the centre.
Here is an image of the groomsmen receiving their gift, they all look very pleased!
